Blog Assignment: Week of 11/8-11/12

Regarding your current Design New Media project:
1.What should I sketch or practice to figure out how I want something to look?
2. What are the parts that are more challenging than what I usually do?
3. What skills am I practicing and learning as I create this artwork?

  1. 1. i should practice drawing what is in my mind, and what i want the outcome of the project to be. We are doing a website and we have to sketch the layout, meaning how many pages, what is going to go on each page, and the colors we are going to use.
    2. I have never made a website and learning how to do it is pretty easy but doing more complicated things that would make it look cooler is challenging.
    3. I am practicing making a website and making things flow with one another even though they are on different pages.

  2. 1. I should sketch where I want things to be so I can have a guide of my idea when I actually create my project on the computer.
    2. In my current project, we are working in a team and I have never done that before in any of my CoSA projects
    3. I am learning the techniques of advertising

  3. 1. I should sketch all the element i want to have and how i want to bring them together, so i should experiment with some different layouts.
    2. The parts of this project that are more challenging are that we have to work in a group and i haven't done that for a CoSA project.
    3. I am learning how to work well in a group and how to make a successful advertisement.

  4. ~I should experiment with making things look more 3-D and applying perspective to simple sketches.
    ~Adding small details and really taking the time to finalize all of my work.
    ~I am learning what attracts the eye and wins the audience’s attention.

    1.) I should sketch what the print ad/poster will look like so I have a basic concept to follow.
    2.) The part that will be the most challenging is to communicate with my group members. I don’t work with groups that much, but I think we will work well together.
    3.) I am practicing my sketching skills and I will probably work on my photography skills. I will probably use Photoshop a bit more.

    1. I should get better at actually drawing.

    2. None whatsoever. My shape is a humanoid collection of blobs with a smiley face on it. If I can't draw that, then I'm incapable of running the universe the way I have.

    3. I don't know, there isn't much to it.

  8. 1) I should probably, though I loath to say it, start sketching a story board for my project.

    2) I have to come up with a conceptual art piece, which i have never done before

    3) I am practicing the ability to express an idea through everyday, ready-made objects.

  10. 1.I should practice drawing shapes that I could make with clay, and then think about how I might arrange them to create a creature.
    2. I actually have to think about weight distribution because today my creature's head was heavier than its body and it tipped over.
    3. I'm learning more about form and anatomy, as well as proportion, and eventually, shading.

  11. 1) I want to do more drawing sketches to see what my vision in my head looks like on paper.

    2) I think that drawing sketches is harder because I like doing more with my hands then drawing it out.

    3) I'm learning how to draw and how to do clay mation better then I did before.

  12. 1. For this project I always need to sketch grids and draw what I want on them. I also really need to practice coloring in photoshop more.
    2. Drawing in different perspectives isn’t something I’ve done much before.
    3. I’m learning more about how perspective and proportion works in these drawings.

  13. 1.At the moment i need to think of some ideas for what i am going to do.
    2. Usually we do something on the computer, but this will be a physical art project, so i am really excited. This will make it a challenge since we are not used to doing this.
    3. I am practicing how to do new things, its will be interesting because it is a style i have never done before, and we will be using a new medium.

  14. 1. I need to sketch out a sour patch kid first a foremost. Then I need to figure out how to place him on a poster and what else could be in the foreground.
    2. Coming up with some way to incorporate someone else’s product or logo is difficult. Having to keep to they’re style while creating my own thing is pretty hard.
    3. I am practicing sketching before I start out and then, incorporating someone else’s ideas into mine.

  15. 1. I mostly think about something that I've seen before in real life and sketch it. I also sketch something whether I feel like doing it.
    2. Drawing anime characters are kinda tough for me.
    3. I always try drawing a fictional character's eyes and head over and over again and try redrawing the character but in full body.

  17. 1. I should practice working with kid actors again. I've done it before, but in my recent experiences working alone, I've grown increasingly impatient.
    2. Working in a group. I don't like not being 100% in charge of something, but I'll have to get used to it.
    3. I'm practicing working in a group. I'm fine taking criticism, but I don't like when people don't do what I envision. I'll have to get used to that too.

    2. Challenging parts are looking for my old work and deciding what I want to do with it.
    3. I'm practicing new techniques and learning what does and doesn't work for what I'm trying to achieve.

  21. 1. If you just draw what i have inside my head after enough try's i'm bound to get it.
    2. I usually don't put as much effort into all the research a stuff.
    3. I'm really learning a lot about how minute color corrections can change the whole feeling of it

  22. 1.I should sketch the title page of the scrapbook and the inside of the pages, to see if I like the design.
    2.Well, I am making a scrapbook and the hardest part would be putting it together and making it look childish in the end.
    3.I am practicing and learning how to create this artwork in the perspective of a child.

  23. 1. If you want something to look they way you imagine it take multiple sketches or drawings of the certain item until it is satisfactory enough.
    2. On the project I'm working on the most challenging part would be the sculpting of the clay.
    3. I am learning about clay, and sketching objects each day so as you go through it it looks like it is moving.

  24. 1.I should sketch it, because that's how I've always done ideas I've had.
    2.3D animation is not my skill, so it's definately the most challenging because I know nothing about it.
    3.I am practicing 3D animation and building in Maya for future projects, and if I get a job doing 3D movies in the future.

  26. 1. I need to start taking pictures so I can pick which ones I want from the set.
    2. I've never created any sort of installation art with this kind of extravagance.

  27. 1.I should sketch arbitrary ideas and then find some link between them to make the piece flow.
    2. The parts that are more challenging is trying to sketch designs that are child like but still have a creative edge.
    3. The skills that I am practicing are adapting to a different type of theme, which right now is Childhood. At first when this project was brought up I thought this would not be that hard, but I'm finding that it is challenging in the sense that I am not a kid anymore and have to really think back to what was fun and exciting back then.

    I should sketch a drawing of a red wagon, and the things that will be in the advertisement, like text, objects and other stuff.
    2. What are the parts that are more challenging than what I usually do?
    I think it will be challenging to record the radio ad because i usually laugh a lot when it comes to recording myself.
    3. What skills am I practicing and learning as I create this artwork?
    I will learn how to make a movie and record a video ad.

  32. 1.I should storyboard my entire commercial before I shoot it so that it looks the way I want in preproduction.
    2. I usually don't work in a group without my friend, and i don't make commercials for products ever.
    3. Im learning about the methods and processes needed in advertising.

    2. The part of my project that are more challenging are the different angles and matching up the different cuts.
    3. I am learning more about final cut pro and practicing the skills that I have been learning in class over the past weeks.

    2. I've never used a wagon before, so it's going to be challenging for me to imaging people play with it.
    3. i need to create an ad that attracts parents' attention.

  38. 1. Well I think that I need to sketch the sets for my newest project, I want them to look like The Beatles because R. Stevie is a fan and was greatly influenced by them.
    2. I tried doing this before but I waited to long last time and it didn't turn out like how i would have liked.
    3. I need to make a video that he enjoys and will appreciate me as an artist.
