Blog Assignment: Week of 11/1-11/5

This week, you will be sketching! Research has shown that sketching is a key step in helping to nurture the creative side and generate ideas. For each day this week, you will be sketching with a specific focus. At the end of the week you will answer the following questions about your sketching experience:

1. How did you come up with ideas each day?
2. What conclusions did you derive about your artistic ability at the end of each day?
3. What big ideas did you generate through the sketching process?

Sketching Schedule: Sketch for at least 20 minutes each day.
Monday: Line
Tuesday: Shape
Wednesday: Add Color to above sketches
Thursday: Character
Friday: Scene/Landscape

You will be turning in your sketches and finishing the questions on Friday, 11/5/10.

  3. 1.At first I had no idea what to do, so I just drew an angled line and then I thought I could draw a dock. After the dock I thought I could put a bird on a post on the dock and draw a scene around it.
This idea comes from the fact that I love scenery and I imagined this drawing as a picture I would like to take.

2.I concluded that I love scenery things and I can draw quite decently if I work hard on it.

3.I created a picture from a line. The big idea was coming up with a character that fit in with everything else I had done, and using the rule of thirds on the character, to make the sketch more appealing.

It was fun not having a prompt that we had to follow, just random.
    3. What big ideas did you generate through the sketching process?
It's easier to draw whats on your mind than have to copy something line for line.
